Openet has completed implementation of ICT infrastructure at Galaxy Resources' Jiangsu Lithium Carbonate plant in Zhangjiagang, China.

Openet is the first company in Western Australia to deploy the Hewlett Packard Left Hand Networks 4300 Storage Area Network. The storage area network (SAN), deployed as part of a server refresh and consolidation project for a client in the mining sector, provides centralised, network-attached storage for both server operating systems and data.

FQM engaged Openet to design and deploy a WAN optimisation and acceleration solution utilising Riverbed Steelhead appliances. The primary objective was delivering good Hyperion performance, however, secondary objectives included increasing WAN throughput and reducing WAN utilisation.

At 16:00 hours on Tuesday, Openet's Managing Director received an international phone call from Zambia. The client's primary Perth to Zambia satellite link was down due to equipment failure and there was a lead time of at least three days to get a replacement satellite modem. Essential services such as email, accounting applications and telephony were interrupted.
